Severus Phineas Black (born 17 August 1980) was a Pure-blood wizard, son of Sirius and Anna Black, who attended the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry from 1991 to 1998, and was sorted in Slytherin house, the same as his parents.

Originally, Pansy and Severus were sworn mortal enemies. Pansy aspired to live up to her parents' very high pure-blood behavioural standards while Severus seemed not to care and instead opted to enjoy life, rather than bother himself with all that "pure-blood shite". Pansy treated exposure to his "indecent" behaviour as if it was a plague, and tried her best to avoid him.
Although she never denied her physical attraction to him, she saw him as arrogant and full of himself. The feeling was indeed mutual as the two would have incredible rows as Severus saw her as incredibly pretentious and self-centered. However, a chance meeting in a broom closet

Severus Snape and his namesake Severus Black shared a close relationship, with Black affectionately acknowledging him as "Uncle Sev", even during school. Snape had stated many times that Black has skill in Potions class, however he did not apply himself.
