Neville Scott Longbottom (born 30 July 1980) was a pure-blood wizard and son of Aurors Frank and Alice Longbottom (née Hamilton), veterans of the British Wizarding Civil War. His mother died in the later stages of the conflict when she was tortured and killed by Death Eaters by order of Lord Voldemort. His father remarried Mary Macdonald and through that marriage, Neville gained two half-siblings: Jake and Charlotte Longbottom. Neville began attending Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in 1991 and was Sorted into Gryffindor like his stepmother.
During school, Neville became fast friends with the likes of Harry Potter, Hermione Granger and Sirius Snape. In addition to Harry, Neville shared a dorm with Seamus Finnigan, Dean Thomas and Iain Claverdon. He was very interested in Herbology and was Madam Sprout's best student. Neville lacked in the Defence Against the Dark Arts department, but was tutored by Daniel Potter after joining the Duelling Association, allowing him to pass his O.W.L.s and N.E.W.T.s on the subject. Neville was part of Harry's Court, the group of friends Neville maintained a relationship with during his time at Hogwarts. He aided his best mate in uniting the school by taking part in his boycott of the House Cup by refusing what little house points he was given and taking part in the pick-up Quidditch games organized by Harry. In his fourth year, Neville began a relationship with Luna Lovegood after taking her to the Winter Ball.
After graduating from Hogwarts, Neville traveled with Luna during her studies as a Magizoologist and the pair married just after the turn of the millennium. With her, Neville had three children; Emileigh Hermione, Aurora Pandora and Donovan Frank Longbottom. He took over the Herbology post at Hogwarts after Pomona Sprout's retirement. After Luna began teaching Care of Magical Creatures, the couple moved to Hogwarts permanently, raising their children in the castle.
