Changes: Draugr (Shadow North)

Draugr (Also spelled and refered as Draug) are a type of Undead found primarily in Iceland, Norway,parts of nothern Sweden and on forgotten archipelago islands of Denmark. They are foul humanoid undead beings who blend elements of both physical undead and ghostly beings.

Appearance

A Draugr looks similar like the average undead corpse looking creature with a couple differences here and there such as pale rotten flesh and skin and bony appearance. Worth mentioning Draugr usually wear ancient norse armor and wields ancient weapons of norse vikings and barbarians.

Abilities

Wherever Draugr go they spread disease, plague and bad omens among the living. Despite looking skinny and bony corpses Draugr are actually very strong and have a decent weapon skills.

While indeed being physical undead like the likes of Inferi and Zombies, Draugr have shown to have the abilities of ghosts like passing through walls and floor.

Some Draugr also have supernatural abilities like curses, controlling the weather, elemental powers, powers of a seer and so on.

History

In ancient Norse religion and culture it was believed that Draugr are whats left of people who were mean, nasty, greedy and dishonorable or people who were cursed somehow. However during the post-pagan times of scandinavia this old narrative started to be questioned and dismissed by later generations of wizards both of scandinavia and outside scandinavia as newer ideas on what Draugr are came.

In Year four in Hogwarts Draugr are talked about during Defence Against the Dark Arts class among other undead creatures around the world.
