The Cheshire School of Witchcraft and Wizardry is a small Magical School located somewhere along the coast in Southeastern Australia. The school is especially known for its skilled teachings in spell-casting and potion making.
History[]
The Cheshire School of Witchcraft and Wizardry was founded in 1866 by Aesop Taylors. Aesop was a former Hogwarts School student and wanted to create a school with similar values, which he did, after moving from Scotland to Australia.
The school had a rocky start, with recruiting students and attracting professors proving to be difficult. The school was also the target of wizard criminals, who destroyed part of the school one night a few years after it was constructed. Storms also proved to be a danger to the school, so the school was relocated to a higher elevation above the coast in 1880.
Eventually Aesop's hardwork and vision paid off and the school was accepted by the International Confederation of Wizards in 1890. The 4 School Houses were formed shortly after and more and more students attended the school each year. Eventually every class had a permanent professor and the school had full-time staff.
School Information[]
The school is located somewhere along the Southeastern Coast of Australia in a remote location. Students get to the school by traveling on a small ferry. The ferry leaves from a dock near a port town and takes 3 hours to reach a hidden cove with docks nearby the Cheshire Castle.
The school accepts students from 11-18 years old from all of Australia. The student body numbers 140, with 35 students per house, and 5 new students accepted into each of the 4 houses every year.
Tocktown[]
Tocktown is the only all-wizarding village in Australia. It was founded in 1825 by Edict Woodgrove. The village is picturesque, located slightly more inland than Cheshire Castle among steep hills. Tocktown has a theme of clocks, with many of them scattered around the outsides of buildings around the village. The village has a population of around 1,000 people. Third year Cheshire students and above are permitted to take weekend trips to Tocktown. The go-to place for Cheshire Students is The Rainbow Snake, a cozy restaurant with a game room.
