The Ankylosaurus is a species of dinosaur that lived during the late Cretaceous period and is well known for its body armor and club on its tail. Although they're extinct, they are one of various animals an animagus can turn into, as well as being a form of the Patronus Charm.

The name Ankylosaurus means "crooked lizard": "ankulos" means crooked in Greek and "saurus" means lizard in Greek.
