Alouette Lovegood (b. before 1964) was a witch and the second child and only daughter of Ygraine Lovegood and an unnamed French wizard. She is the beloved older sister of Xenophilius Lovegood and the sister-in-law to Pandora Lovegood, the mother of Luna Lovegood. Her fiancé-to-be died in a case of accidental magical food poisoning only days before their wedding, causing Alouette much heartache. The main factor in the death of her father was due to the insurgence of Death Eater activity situated around the capital of France, Paris while her mother descended in lunacy due to having delivered a still-born baby. Forced to tend to both her mother and her younger siblings, she opted for a homeschooling option and became the only breadwinner in the family, in order to support her family financially. The Lovegood House eventually passed into her possession with the death of her mother, as she was the "eldest living heir" of the family, she inherited all of the material possessions that had been left behind by her mother when she passed.

She and her younger brother were close friends with the Weasley Household, though she broke her ties with them due to ---, which led to the death of her fiancé-to-be. Her grief over his death caused her to be blinded by her immense hatred and she turned on his family, believing them to have caused his death. A supporter of Harry Potter, she raised him in secrecy and encouraged his understanding of magic and it's principles on more than a fundamental level. Her knowledge of magical theoretical practice allowed her to teach Harry much more complex understandings of his surroundings and he flourished underneath her care. In the summer of 1997, Alouette with Xenophilius and Luna attended a social tea party meant to celebrate the 16th birthday of Niamh Skeeter, Xenophilius and Alouette's niece and Luna's paternal first-cousin. In 1998, Alouette saved her kidnapped niece from a horde of Death Eaters and decided to begin mentoring Luna, despite the disapproval of her adoptive son, Harry, who desired for Luna to remain out of harms' way during the duration of the Second Wizarding War.

After the Second Wizarding War, she married to an aristocratic secretly magical member of the upper crust British society in Lancaster and left the Wizarding World. Her death which occurred between either September 2007 and August 2008 heavily devastated her widowed husband who desired greatly to live with his brother-in-law, hoping that he would feel more comfortable in her birthplace. Unfortunately with his death due to an attack on the estate by a group of rogue Death Eaters, his twelve children were left alone. A fully-grown Luna and Niamh Skeeter took over the management of the Duke of Norfolk's estate and raised their aunt's children. With the passing of both Xenophilius and Rita, the last members of the older generation of the House of Lovegood faded away into memory only.

Biography[]

Early life[]

Alouette was born into the House of Lovegood and attended the University of Oxford through a homeschooling program. Her education was widely documented for a woman at the time, as it was not known upon her admission that she was a woman at all. Rather, she was believed to be a man and used her doctorate that she achieved from her studies at Oxford, in order to start her own law business in the Wizarding World. At an unknown time, she became dating a member of the Weasley family, the eldest brother of Arthur Weasley.

Later life[]

Physical appearance[]

Her husband Frederick described her as a very beautiful young woman with pale blonde hair and bluish-green eyes that were filled with much intelligence and knowledge. She was of an average stature and height, yet had a commanding and dazzling presence to herself that drew eyes and attention to her mere presence.

Personality and traits[]

Alouette was a wise, tranquil and gentle woman with a caring and graceful demeanor ━ her nature and position as the mentor of Harry meant that she boasted immense amounts of knowledge and was a bit of a theorist in regards to magical theory and practice ━ the unusual techniques she employed in order to teach Harry magical theory, was devised as a way to "test" his understanding of magical theory and practice itself, allowing his innate magic to spring forward. Though not as eccentric as her younger brother or siblings-in-law, she does display an oddness to her teaching methods proven by her decision to suddenly push Harry into a giant waterfall to test whether he could float by using only a hastily spoken mental spell for 50 minutes ━ becoming immensely disappointed when he only floated underneath the waterfall for 10 minutes ━ leading to many of the critics of her teaching methods to label her as "slightly insane". Her teaching methods, though greatly questionable have increased the magical potential of Harry, Luna, and Niamh.
